Pruning for Production
I’ll prune your trees or shrubs for higher production, greater long-term health, and aesthetic beauty. Winter pruning from December to March; summer pruning primarily in July and August.
Orchard Management
Beyond winter and summer pruning, small to medium scale orchards require year-round management activities for optimal health and production. Ex’s: weeding, mulching, interplanting with accumulator species, developing ground covers, diversification, soil amendments, integrated pest management strategies.
I’ll perform a site assessment on your orchard (or even a single shrub or tree!) and together we’ll develop a management strategy that fits your goals, land, and budget.
Regenerative Food Forestry
Design, installation, and management of diverse tree-crop ecosystems that perform the following functions:
–Produce diverse, delicious, high-quality perennial food,
–Restore soil fertility and watershed integrity,
–Provide habitat for wildlife and beneficial insects,
–Sequester carbon in wood and soil,
–Connect people with their habitat and role as caretakers.
–Whole-systems regeneration from backyard scale to small farm scale.
