I provide quality training and mentoring in permaculture land use practices and traditional ecological knowledge. I work closely with other mentors and trainers in these fields, often collaborating or working as one member of a teaching team. If the type of course you’re looking for doesn’t appear on this list below, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Eyes of the Forest Naturalist Program
This is my local (MA Pioneer Valley area), Wednesday afternoon, three-season training journey in tracking, bird language, and traditional knowledge of place. I take students for one, two, or all three seasons, and welcome drop-in’s! The course is currently running and will finish its full 8-month run on June 9, 2010. Contact me to register.
Permaculture Design Courses
The internationally recognized, 72-hour certification course in regenerative design and permaculture land use practices. Currently, I’m teaching in Green Phoenix Permaculture’s winter weekend series PDC at Camp Epworth in High Falls, NY.
Bird Language 2010
Bird language is the ultimate art of seeing through the eyes of the animals. It is a powerful learning path for deep earth connection, scout invisibility, and self-awareness and humility. You can read more about bird language here. I’m helping to organize a four-day advanced bird language course in the Northeast for spring 2010 – stay tuned for dates and location!
Forest Garden Immersion Course
An intensive weekend workshop in the theory, design, implementation, and management of temperate climate food forestry. Check back for dates and locations for spring 2010!
5-day immersion in a living mentoring village, for ages 3 to elder. Vermont Wilderness School has been putting these life-changing programs on in southern Vermont for 11 consecutive years. Next dates in Vermont: Fall 2010. More AoM’s coming soon around Eastern North America and Europe. West Coasters can check out the teacher-training AoM’s run by Wilderness Awareness School.
Talks and Presentations
I speak around the Northeast on topics related to agroforestry, regenerative land use, and humans as keystone species. I recently presented on “Tree Crops and Agroforestry” at Young Farmers Conference 2009. See my talks on SlideShare.
